Hold flag march in Jalandhar during the curfew/ lockdown
JALANDHAR: Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma and Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar today said that around 84% of the total Throat swab tests conducted to detect Corona Virus in the district were negative as so far out of the total 5322 samples taken in Jalandhar, as many as 4476 samples have been tested negative of Covid 19.
The Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police, who conducted flag march in various parts of the city, said that till now 5322 samples through the Throat Swab tests have been taken in the district out of which 197 have been found positive whereas 4476 samples have been found negative. They further said that reports of 491 patients were still pending but so far total 25 patients have recovered from Corona Virus and have been discharged from the Civil Hospital. Both the officers further said that all the active cases of the Corona Virus that were undergoing treatment in the local Civil Hospital were non-critical.
The Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police further said that 122 teams of the Health department today conducted door to door survey of 9662 houses during which 43698 persons were screened. They said that in the district so far 8061 persons have been home quarantined out of which 7084 have completed their 14 days period where as the quarantine period of 977 persons was still active. Both the officers said that the district administration would leave no stone unturned for wiping out the Covid 19 from the district. They unequivocally said that the entire globe was fighting against the Corona Virus pandemic and Punjab in general and Jalandhar in particular could win this war only if people make social distancing and ‘self home quarantine’ an integral part of their lives.
