Issue challans to 182 for various COVID violations, collect fine worth Rs 91000
Jalandhar- Continuing its endeavour to sensitize the masses about Covid safety protocols and timely testing, several teams of Municipal Corporation conducted awareness drive in 51 wards of the city under Lok Saanjhedari program and apprised them about the importance of early testing and treatment to save the human lives from novel coronavirus.
The teams told the people to remain vigilant about symptoms and if anyone develops a fever or influenza like illness and comes into contact of Covid positive person, he or she must contact the doctor without fail and undergo Covid testing.
The teams stressed that there is a need to give special attention to the elderly or persons with co-morbidities.
They said the people must wear protective masks, wash hands frequently and maintain two-yard distance in case they have to venture out of the homes.
Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that community participation is the need of the hour in controlling the spread of the Covid-19 by ensuring primary prevention.
Deputy Commissioner solicited fulsome support and cooperation of people for making the program a huge success to wipe out Covid 19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, MC Joint Commissioner Harcharan Singh said that during the drive, the teams also issued 182 challans and collected the fine worth Rs 91000. He said that teams also distributed 1000 awareness posters during the meetings.
He said that the separate teams of Municipal Councillor, youth or religious leader have been visiting the areas and making the people aware about precautions to be followed for keeping the contagion under check .
