Distributes masks in Goraya and Phillaur
GORAYA/PHILLAUR/JALANDHAR: Member of Parliament Santokh Singh Chaudhary on Sunday launched a special drive by the Cooperation Department of Punjab Government to distribute the masks and sanitize the areas in view of COVID-19 pandemic.
Launching the drive under Mission Fateh in Goraya and Phillaur cities, the senior Congress leader distributed masks to poor families, including women and children.
Informing the reporters about the special campaign, MP Santokh Chaudhary stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and Cooperation Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, cooperative societies have joined hands with the administration to fight against the coronavirus pandemic. He said that under this drive, the secretaries and staff of cooperative societies would go door-to-door to distribute masks and raise awareness about the prevention of coronavirus infection.
He further said that the societies would also undertake the crucial task of sanitizing the local areas.
The Lok Sabha MP said that thanks to those fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic at frontlines, Punjab has kept the situation under strict control and the government’s Mission Fateh is aimed at eradicating the virus and aiding recovery.
MP Chaudhary asked the people to take all precautions, wear masks, frequently wash hands and limit contact with other people to stop the spread of coronavirus.
Phillaur Market Committee Chairman Makhan Singh Khaira, Goraya Market Committee Chairman Dara Singh Boparai, Rurka Kalan Block Congress President Rakesh Duggal, Ram Lubhaya Punj, AR Malkeet Ram, Inspectors Sukhjit Singh & Parshotam Lal, Dr Rakesh Sharma, Rajiv Punj, Anil Joshi and Vaibhav Sharma were among those present on these occasions.
